Shepherd's pie

  • 500 g lamb mince
  • 1 onion, 2 carrots, diced
  • Tomato paste
  • Stock
  • 800 g potatoes for mash
  • Butter
  1. Fry the mince with the vegetables, add tomato paste and stock and simmer to a rich filling

  2. Boil and mash the potatoes with butter

  3. Top the filling with mash, fork the surface and bake until bubbling and golden

Buttered peas

  • 300 g frozen peas
  • Butter
  • Mint
  1. Simmer the peas briefly, drain and toss with butter and mint

Honey carrots

  • 400 g carrots
  • Butter
  • Honey
  1. Simmer the carrots until tender, then glaze with butter and honey

Crusty bread

  • 1 crusty loaf
  • Butter
  1. Warm the loaf through until the crust crackles
